⏰ What Do “s.t.” and “c.t.” Mean?
- 🕐 s.t. = sine tempore (“without time”) → The lecture starts exactly at the stated time.
- 🕒 c.t. = cum tempore (“with time”) → The lecture starts 15 minutes later than the stated time.
This 15-minute delay is called the “academic quarter”, a long-standing tradition at many German universities 🏛️ that gives students time to move between classes.
📘 Examples
- “10:00 c.t.” → starts at 10:15 and usually ends around 11:45.
- “10:00 s.t.” → starts exactly at 10:00.
✅ Important Tip
Always check whether your course is listed as s.t. or c.t. when reading your timetable — it can make a big difference for arriving on time! 😉
